What it does
Specs how data and conditional content move through the GOV.UK Prototype Kit, then turns a UX planning handoff into a buildable prototype.md.
- Specs how Kit answers flow via input `name` → `data['…']` across pages
- Prefills returning fields (`value` / checkbox `values`) and handles blank optionals with `or`
- Chooses branching vs in-page `{% if %}` conditional content for the learning question
- Seeds research scenarios with session defaults or query-string links and clears data between participants
- Specs Kit layouts (`extends` / `main.html`)
- Maps `/app/assets` → `/public`, plus Sass and pageScripts
- Password-protects a published Kit prototype when the test needs it
- Turns a UX planning handoff into prototype.md for Cursor, Codex, and proof-of-concepts
- Annotates tasks, states, and what the prototype must not claim
What it does not own
- Does not own research conclusions (User Researcher)
- Does not own flows or IA before a planner handoff
- Does not own visual brand systems
- Does not own production code from prototype kits
Role boundaries follow NN/g · GDS · DDaT.
